It might not be by a brand that you immediately recognise, but if you have a compact DSLR from Nokia, Canon or Sony, the Tokina 11-16mm (f/2.8 AT-x 116 Pro DX Ultra-wide zoom), could be for you.
This lens has been met with rave reviews for not only being affordable but extremely fast as well.
The Tokina 11-16mm lens gives you the equivalent performance of a 16.5-24mm lens on a full frame.
However B&H Insights claims that this little stunner stands out from the crowd because of its super-fast aperture, which remains constant throughout its entire focal range.
A great little feature about this lens is that it has a 'One-Touch Focus Clutch Mechanism' which lets you flick quickly between manual and auto focus.
And although we would strongly recommend you to keep this away from large expanses of water, it does have a thin water repellent optical coating that helps protect the front lens from the elements.
All in all, a lens that might not immediately spring to mind, but one that definitely should.
