The battle for having the best digital camera in mobile phones looks like moving up a gear or 16 after Sony Ericsson's new Cyber-shot S006 was spied posing for the FCC.
Initially destined for the Japanese market, pictures reveal it has a whopping 16-megapixel camera.
The phone also boasts a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, Wi-Fi connectivity and a 3.3-inch touch screen.
And it seems there will be no Android or Windows 7 operating system on board, with Sony Ericsson preferring its own platform.
Even if this particular phone doesn't make it to the UK, we could soon be seeing the 16 megapixels on devices from rivals like HTC and Apple.
