RIM unveils WebWorks kit for PlayBook

For all you iPad users out there looking for the next big thing in the world of computing, Research in Motion has released a new beta version of its WebWorks developers' kit for the Tablet OS platform.
The BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for Tablet OS will allow web developers "to build powerful, integrated applications quickly and easily for both BlackBerry smartphones and the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet”, which is yet to be released.
It includes the WebKit rendering engine, supports HTML5, CSS and JavaScript and can turn World Wide Web Consortium-compatible web widgets into a Blackberry WebWorks application package.
At the same time, the company has announced a host of new tools for its smartphones.
If you can't wait for the new PlayBook, PurelyGadgets has loads of tablets available.
