Pentax K-r digital camera launched

Pentax have just announced the launch of a smart new digital camera that has all the features of a DSLR, but in a slimmed-down and lightweight body more reminiscent of a compact.
The Pentax K-r comes in a range of colours, including silver and red, but don't let the jazzy outer casing fool you into thinking that this is anything but a serious bit of photographic kit.
Packing in 12.4 megapixels, with Pentax's Prime 2 data processing engine on board, the K-r is capable of an astonishing 6 pictures a second, with a maximum burst of 25 at a time.
And with the capability to shoot 720p video and a 3 inch LCD on the back, the new Pentax covers all the movie shooting bases as well.
Due out later this month the Pentax K-r ships with an 18-55mm DAL camera lens as standard although other lenses will also be available.
