Sony Playstation 3 320 GB Slim
£299.99
After getting uber-hyped about potential 3D gaming, especially on the most current consoles, Sony say the PS3 won't see the technology deployed anytime soon.
Despite the PS3 being able to handle 1080p images, which are very high quality, Sony have put a 720p limit for 3D gaming.
Even games with a native 1080p resolution will have to be downscaled to fit with this new upper limit.
Speaking at a conference in Brighton, Sony's Simon Benson explained the reasoning behind the cap – saying that it's so that games can enjoy 60fps, in comparison to the 24fps that would come with 1080p.
However if we can't actually have any games or programmes on TV, as Sky, Virgin and Freeview don't support the full 1080p full HD spec, we ask ourselves, why are we getting the HD option then?
Anyway, despite this, PS3 gaming is still extremely advanced and you can pick one up here at PurelyGadgets.
