New iPod this year?

If you haven't heard, over the past week it's been reported that retailer John Lewis believes there's going to be a new version of the Apple iPod Touch coming out before the end of the year – just in time for Christmas.
At first it was reported that the refreshed version would carry a 5 mega pixel camera, however on closer inspection of the facts and some clarity cast over the situation by 9to5.mac, it'll be more like a 3.2 mega pixel camera, similar to the one on the iPhone 3GS.
However, we're not discouraged; it'll still be pretty cool to take photos whilst surfing the net or listening to your favourite tunes.
We should know more in September, when Apple will make announcements over tech features, but if you can't wait, check out the 3rd generation 8GB iPod touch that we stock here at PurelyGadgets, and I can guarantee with or without a camera, you won't be disappointed.
