New research has shown that there is some life left in the netbook market, despite the rise of tablets like the iPad.
ABI Research has predicted that 43m netbooks will be sold by the end of the year, compared to 36.3m in 2009. However, earlier in the year, ABI forecast that 58m netbooks would be bought in 2010, as they didn't reckon for the growth of tablets.
iPads and other tablets are expected to sell around 11m units by the turn of the year, which almost makes up for the gap between ABI's two netbook predictions.
2011 could prove to be a crucial year for netbook sales, as the choice of tablets increases with RIM's PlayBook and the Samsung Galaxy.
Whether you're a netbook devotee or want a move onto a tablet, there's always plenty of options for you at PurelyGadgets.
