Is an HTC mobile phone running on an Android operating more popular than Apple's iPhone or Research in Motion's Blackberry?
Not yet, according to research from Nielsen, but it could be gaining fast.
Data from October this year shows that nearly a third of mobile phones in the US are smartphones like the HTC Desire Z.
The Android operating system that powers this phone is still behind Apple's iPhone and RIM's Blackberry systems in the popularity stakes, but only just.
"Apple's iPhone and devices with the Android operating system were the most desired among likely smartphone upgraders," Nielsen said.
Here at PurelyGadgets there is huge selection of big name mobile phones, from HTC and Apple to Modu and Nokia.
