The Mobiles/cat/?catid=4" target="_self">HTC Desire smartphone was the UK's best selling mobile phone in February, according to new research.
And February was a pretty good month all round for the Taiwanese manufacturer, as the second and third top spots in uSwitch's survey were taken by the HTC Desire HD and the HTC Wildfire, respectively.
All three are powered by Google's Android operating system, as are a total of five of the top ten handsets – rated by February sales and live searches on the price comparison site.
Apple's iPhone 4 has slipped out of the top five for the first time since its launch, coming in at number six, behind the Blackberry Curve 8250 and the Samsung Galaxy S.
However, uSwitch technology expert Ernest Doku warned: "Android phones have well and truly pipped Apple to the post. But, with just a couple of months until Apple is expected to give details of its next offering, it's almost a dead cert that they will soon lead the way again in the race for smartphone dominance."
