Google Gingerbread out for Christmas

The long-awaited update to Google's Android mobile phone operating system (OS) is sure to be a tasty treat.
Gingerbread comes with improved keyboard and texting tools, and is being released just in time for Christmas.
The new OS delivers a number of improvements, including "user interface refinements, NFC support, a new keyboard and text selection tool, Internet (VoIP/SIP) calling, improved copy/paste functionality and gyroscope sensor support", notes Google.
But you'll have to wait until December 20th before the new Nexus S from Samsung comes out with the OS on board.
Featuring a four-inch contour display, the replacement to the original Nexus is shaping up to be a big improvement on its predecessor.
